Borghese Gallery Tour

The Borghese Gallery is one of the most important Roman art collection. It was created by the cardinal Scipione Borghese when he wanted to exhibit his precious collections of art and ancient sculptures to the public.

When: daily at 9am, 11am, 1pm, 3pm, 5pm (NOT on MONDAY)

On the ground floor are displayed the incredible statues by Gian Lorenzo Bernini. Each of the statues offers multiples points of view to allow full enjoyment of the great artist's skill. One room is entirely dedicated to Caravaggio, and you will discover the beginner of the "chiaroscuro" technique he developed.

On the first floor we are going to follow the great Italian painters. The collection is organized by school and region. We will see paintings by Antonello da Messina, Giovanni Bellini, Raphael, Titian, Correggio.

One of my favourite statues is Bernini's Pluto and Proserpina (also known as the Rape of Proserpina), you too will be captured by the beauty of the composition.
